The goal of KATALYST is to simplify and automate the 3D design process of functional parts. It can generate parts and allow you to edit them without CAD knowledge. It is a community effort to make CAD more user-friendly, open-data and open-source.
KATALYST is only available on desktop, please come back on desktop to try it out.
#1 Design with words
Instantly generate 3D models ready for manufacturing
KATALYST can generate 3D models from your text queries. You can use it as a standalone
tool or seamlessly integrate it with your existing CAD workflows.
Make a spur gear
Make a planetary gear
Make a planetary gear with 6 planets, axis and carrier
#2 Fully parametric parts
completely out of the box
KATALYST will default to creating parametric designs that are both reactive and
context-aware. This means you can adjust dimensions, angles, and other parameters, and
your designs will automatically and intelligently adapt to these changes.
length
width
thickness
hole diameter
padding

#3 Explore the design space
with a robust feedback loop
If tweaking a parameter is not enough, KATALYST can create unlimited iterations on your
designs by leveraging your written feedback. Furthermore, it remembers all your previous
instructions, so you don't even have to repeat yourself.
Initial
Make a rectangular enclosure
Iteration 1
Add a hole 20mm wide on the bottom
Iteration 2
Close the top side
Iteration 3A
Add the same hole on the top side
Iteration 4
Fillet the sides
Iteration 3B
Replace the hole on the top side by two holes at its end, sized like USB ports
#4 Export and print
all in one click
KATALYST can export your design to STL, STEP, DXF, 3MF and other popular formats. We
plan to integrate with additive manufacturing partners in the near future to allow you
to print your designs in one click and get them delivered to your office.
